My guilty pleasure

This past month I’ve been experiencing things that I thought would never come across me again, and it comes much severe then the last time.
Once, I remembered I have my Big Bro on the line, and I just mumbling “hallo” when he replied with laughter then said “it’s been a while since I heard that tone coming from you”.
For a reason that I didn’t quite grasp either, I start to like the sensation
I have those momentarily laugh whenever I received text or email, even replying it bring a smirk to my face, and I do enjoy our conversation.

Got to admit …I had my fun, but on the back of my mind I also know this guilty pleasure is too good to be true, and will be over soon, even before I realized.
And yes!. last Wednesday…. I put an end to it, at least from my side, but will be more than happy if the other party decided to keep it going ;-p.

Escape from routine

Had my share of short holiday (well, I prolonged my business trip and decided to explore Semarang & solo city )

Started in semarang city (1 hour flight from Jakarta), and I took the earliest possible flight which cost me to wake up around 4 AM to go to the airport
After office matter done, back to the hotel around 7 PM and so happy when Adi replied my sms.

He took me for a bite, called Tahu Pong it’s a delicacy from Semarang made of tofu with soy bean sauce as a dipping, then we took a ride to explore semarang at night.
I love Semarang old city (Outstaadt) with its cobblestone road, unique street lamp, the magnificent old building….lovely and even lovelier at night due to the street light.
I took a peak of Tay Kak Sie temple, reminisce the time when I was in HK…I can feel familiarity rushing to me. Catch a splendid Blunduk church and end it in Semarang uptown (very breathtaking view ...seeing the whole city glimmering below you).

Solo and Yogya was next on my itinerary, but since I’m so familiar with yogya I’ve decided to explore Solo instead.
Have my lil bro acted as my guide, there I was on his motorcycle, catch a bit of Solo daily life and ritual.
Solo is a much laid back city even if you compare to Yogya & Semarang which also located in Central Java. Almost all the time being out famous by Yogya, now Solo trying to grasp it’s own identity and place among the tourism map.
One thing about Solo, you’ll not gonna be run out of street food adventure…my trip basically is a culinary one and since my guide is university student, his knowledge food relies on the local & street food delicacy.
Thanks God, Solo is heaven for street food, plethora of choices, from local delicacy to international one (such as cheap dimsum on the street)

I have a great time there, exploring the city while reconnecting again with my best buddy (my lil’ bro !!)
